Y is for years

You can decide if you want the years a person was alive displayed in legacy.  This can be adjusted under Options > Customize > #8 View.  In 8.1 if you uncheck the check boxes the years will not be displayed in Legacy.

The image below shows the years displayed on the family tab.

The years are displayed in the family view, the pedigree view and on the name list.  The image below shows section 8.1 where you can make your changes.

Up next is my last post, letter Z, for the A to Z challenge.  It has been lots of fun sharing my Legacy database and a little of Evernote with all of you.  See you for letter Z!

Goodbye Evernote, Hello OneNote

What?  I'm leaving Evernote behind!
As most of you know I have been a huge Evernote supporter from the beginning and I have had a paid membership from the beginning {until October 1st}.There has been a lot of talk about Evernote not lasting much longer because they have been making a lot of changes and letting people go.That got me thinking about what I would do if they did cease to exist.I started looking at all of my options and the best option, for me, is OneNote.I already have it on my computer and it is free.I can use OneNote on my desktop, laptop, phone, and table all for free.I can still use tags {a bit different than what I am use to but it works and I am finding that I really don't need that many tags}.I can still search for things and actually find what I am looking for.I can still clip stuff from the web using the OneNote clipper.I'm currently working on moving notes from Evernote to OneNote. It can be a bit tedious but the process has forced me to look at my note…

Find A Grave is a great place to find leads to research.  Legacy makes it very easy to find everyone in your database who do not have Find A Grave memorials.

Click the drop-down arrow on the Find A Grave icon and it gives you the following options:

I selected create a list of people without a Find A Grave Memorial and I got a nice LONG list of people.  From this list, I have been able to find more ancestors to research and add to my database.
My other goal for 2018 is to find the people in my database who do not have a source {yes, I said without a source.  Gasp!} Legacy also makes it very easy to find these people.  You want to click on Search {in the image of the…
